DBH Tour Guide Training

Are you passionate about the history of Dunoon? Do you love a good story? Are you interested in supporting Dunoon Burgh Hall? Join us and train to be a DBH tour guide! Help us bring stories of the people, architecture and events of Dunoon Burgh Hall to life for our visitors. This short course will give you the skills to become one of our DBH tour guides. If you love our building, then providing tours is a wonderful thing to do! Learn about the quirks of the building, the people who brought it about, and the stories that have shaped its history. You’ll learn the skills to shape the information we have into a wonderful experience for visitors. The course will be led by Margaret Hubbard who has been a guide for almost twenty years. Margaret is involved in assessing guides for the Scottish Tourist Guides Association as well as training guides abroad. Margaret says ‘it’s great to bring a building or a place to life by telling its story. You also meet lots of interesting people. Guiding is a lovely way to spend your time.’ Spaces are limited to 5 places – please note that by signing up to this course you are agreeing to attend all four of the scheduled sessions below: Dates: Tuesday 14 January 10.30 am – 1.00 pm Friday 24 January 10.30 am – 1.00 pm Tuesday 28 January 10.30 am – 1.00 pm Tuesday 11th February 10.30 am – 1.00 pm
