Live Music | Moteh Parrot
Come and join us for this special stripped back, acoustic set with one of Scotland's most exciting new songwriters!
Moteh Parrott is an Edinburgh-based alternative-indie-folk artist from The Highlands via Africa.
Born in Cameroon to parents working in rainforest conservation and given the local name Mnkongmoteh, his music compliments Celtic-infused guitars and cello with lyrics of hope and healing. The result has been likened to a Highland wilderness with all the sweeping colour and spirit which that encompasses.
Shortlisted for BBC Radio Scotlands Singer-Songwriter of the Year Award, Moteh released his debut album last September, which was recorded at Chem19 studios with Paul Savage, producer of Mogwai, Arab strap, and King Creosote, among other renowned Scottish artists. The album features collaborations with Rachel Sermanni, Ryan Young and Nicky Murray.
The Stones are Merely Sleeping has gained BBC Introducing radio play, as well as significant local radio play and press, and earned the band a slot at Greenman Festival 2024.
2025 is shaping up to be an exciting year, with a national tour, festival bookings at Celtic Connections, and a main stage slot at Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival.
We'll be hosting another of our super popular Community Suppers before this gig. This time, our volunteer chefs will be cooking up some delicious bean-based deliciousness, and everyone is invited! To book your space, add a ticket at checkout.
