Skipinnish
Skipinnish are without a doubt one of Scotland’s most exciting exports. Riding an ever-growing wave of popularity, the band has gone from strength to strength since the launch of their album, The Seventh Wave, in 2017. With hit after hit of self penned songs and a strong mix of powerful bagpipe, fiddle and accordion led tune sets, they encompass the very best of traditional and contemporary Celtic music and their energetic live shows continue to captivate audiences all over the UK and Europe.
Drummer Rory wasn’t even born back in 1999 when Skipinnish first hit the heaving pubs and steamy village halls of the West Coast of Scotland. Since then, the band have traversed the length and breadth of Scotland, their inescapable talent and enigmatic performances elevating them from small town ceilidh band to bona fide folk music superstars.
Following a stellar 2017 – which culminated in the band being named Live Act of the Year at the Trad Music Awards – the Skipinnish juggernaut continued to gather pace through 2018 selling out gigs all over the country, including a ground breaking show at the Usher Hall and a magnificent return to the famous Barrowland Ballroom in Glasgow. With 8 million Spotify streams and millions of YouTube hits under their collective belts, their appeal is undeniable and shows no sign of diminishing.
